That’s how calendar works. But I’m not here to tell you how calendar is created. I believe you know that very well. I’m here to tell you what is it possible to do in those 365 days. The choice is yours and here is my story.

365 days ago I made a decision, that the next 365 days of my life will be the best time of my life so far. Only telling yourself such a message is not enough so I wrote a plan of what I will accomplish – my dreams and goals in 5 main categories: feeling with my inner self, health and energy, relationships, finances and self-realization. I wrote many things in each category that I wish to accomplish in the next 365 days. Moreover I hanged some pictures on my wall representing some of those achievements (goals).

And today I took my list out and read it. Amazingly, but many things that I wrote 365 days ago became true. Some things are still in a process because it’s not certain result, it’s a way of feeling or behaving. Some goals were overachieved. And some goals were not even close. So I decided to think over those 365 days that just passed and make a list of anything that great happened in my life including my goal list and things that just happened even though they were not on the list. And here is what I did over those days:

-I got married to a beautiful and amazing woman

-I got a dog I dreamed about

-I participated in all bartenders’ And that’s just a beginning, because I’m already making my goal list for the next 365 days (2015) and it’s gonna be much bigger and I’m going to rock over it even with much more power and energy.

I want to encourage you to do the same and do it now, not 365 later.. because remember, you don’t have too much “365 days” in your life. Every day delayed is every day lost and you will never be able to turn it back. So make this year different, make it better or actually make it the year of your dreams. As I told, my last year was the best in my life and now I’m starting the best year of my life!

P.S. I want to thank all the people who helped me to accomplish my dreams and make the last 365 days the best year of my life. And the most I want to thank my very encouraging wife for being with me and helping those moments when the sun was not shining so bright. I am sure that without you I wouldn't do so great and that’s just a beginning of the most amazing life that we are going to create together!

P.P.S. 365 days a year. Teachers always used to give us seemingly endless lists of books that we should read during summer breaks. And that sucked, even though I've read many books from those lists but I've never enjoyed that and did it because I had to. After school this situation changed, because at the university I didn't get any lists of books, except some technical readings concerning the profession I was studying. And only being at the age of 21 I've read my first book that I chose to read myself, just because I wanted. It was The Picture Of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. My first book of my own choice. And the last.

The last till couple of years earlier from today when I've got couple of Robert Kiyosaki's books. And that was the beginning of me falling in love with reading. After these books I've got some books on self-development, business, later on philosophy, psychology, great people biographies and anything else regarding self-improvement and the extension of my perception of life and the world. After reading biography of Steve Jobs I just started to look for great books, because I became addicted to reading and getting the knowledge from those books that could improve me or my life.

Looking from now I am sure that this habit (reading) is one of the most valuable things that happened in my life. Because the knowledge I've got from those books made a huge impact to my life and achievements and I believe that it will make an even more tremendous impact to my future life.

Concerning books there are two things I found dangerous. Even though I am advocating reading I have just certain literature in mind. By certain I mean books that can really improve you or your life. There are many books written just as many things are created in many areas of life. That doesn't mean that all of them are good or moreover great. There is a saying: "Don't read good books. Read only great books, because there is not enough time in life to read all good books". And that's very true. Just reading is not going to help you, choose wisely and don't waste your time. If you want you can read my reviews on books at this blog or write me a message and I will advise you and that might help you to start.

Another dangerous thing is getting so obsessed with reading that you are not doing any actions that you learn from those books. Reading with passion in great, but don't forget to use the knowledge you learn.

There are many activities to do in life, there are many ways on how to spend your evening, but I believe that reading a great book could be one of the richest forms of time spending. I believe that reading great book will never be the waste of your time, vice versa many other activities will definitely won't make your life any better. And it is your time and your choice how to spend it, just keep in mind that the clock is ticking and you will never get more time or the wasted time back!

Books really can change lives, and what is the book that changed your direction?

Every day I see my dream

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/every-day-i-see-my-dream

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/every-day-i-see-my-dream#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

ideas

motivation

Dreams are what fuels my life and I believe that dreams are the main engine in greatest achievements and mastery of life! The view that I see is blue ocean, beach, palms and rising sun. My day starts with doing what I love, so at first I do sports for couple of hours - fitness, surfboarding, martial arts and others. Later with my woman we have fresh breakfast by the seafront enjoying the sun. The day passes by doing things that brings joy to my life and what I love to do.

That's just a very short fragment of the life I created in my mind. That was when I decided to become champion in all areas of life that I love doing. And I believe that a vision is one of the most important things to start from. Recently I had many chats with different people asking me how I live and why I live like I do today. Some of them asked advises on how to improve some of their life spheres others just simply don't understand why I do things in my way. I told them my vision of life, my dreams and what I want from life and that was the answer why I live today the certain style of life. That was my choice, when some time ago I painted a vision I seek in life and from that moment I started to do things differently. I started to think what things and activities (doing or not doing) are going to take me closer to my dream and which are not. I believe that's very important decision because life is not a repetition before some great event, life is a great event itself that is not going to repeat. And realizing that a clock is ticking I don't want to waste my time on things that are not helping me get closer to my dream.

Deciding to create a dream life was not easy. There were (and still are) many difficult things, tough decisions to make, new skills to learn, but when you decide to reach your dream there is no way back. Many people don't understand that the time is ticking and every day is one day less to really experience life in its full presence!

I can repeat what many successful people are saying - have a dream and never ever give up on it! Because I believe that it's the only way to really experience life!

So, how does your dream life looks like?

Summer of 69

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/summer-of-69

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/summer-of-69#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

insights

motivation

"Oh, when I look back now That summer seemed to last forever And if I had the choice Yeah, I'd always wanna be there Those were the best days of my life", - Bryan Adams Great song and a very interesting message in it! I love this song, it really sounds perfect, but my post is not about Bryan or his music. It's about the summer of 69 or what I call - times of the life that most people had and would like to return to. It's great to have such moments, experiences, memories and other joys of life, but the worst part is that most people had those times (summers of 69) long time ago and now it's just a nice memory not having anything in common with the reality they are living today. It's sad, because I believe that in life every moment should be like summer of 69, not just some part which is just a past now.

I was born not in English speaking country and most older people don't know Bryan Adams, but I always heard the similar thoughts from my parents or other elder people when I was a kid. What I heard was just their memories of the past times when they were younger, mostly college times. I believe most people remember those times because they were still living a part of their OWN life. They didn't live with their parents anymore and they still didn't need to go to work yet. After studies mostly all of them started to work, got married and a bit latter got children. I'm not saying that it's bad, I'm just saying that most of them didn't give themselves a chance to experience and create a life that they really want to live. They just bought into somebody else's (societies) life, the norms and the same bewitched circle their parents were caught in. And that's how summer of 69 became just a bright memory of the past. I was going to university myself and the times were great, but I would never like to go back there, because I try to create every day of my life to be another summer of 69. I believe, that life should be never ending summer of 69 and most people quit on that long time ago.

Are you one of them? The good news is you don't have to be. Every day is another beautiful day to create the life you really want, the one that could not just become another summer of 69 but to stay that way forever. It's just your choice to stay living in memories or to stand up and create an epic life with never ending bright memories to come!

So, are you going to live in just a memory of summer of 69 or you are going to create new and never ending summer of 69?

Champions..

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/champions

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/champions#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

insights

motivation

Is champion born or raised? Trained or have it in since the birth? There could be many different answers and by the answer you give, you will have certain effects to your life. I believe, champions are raised and trained and being a champion is nothing more than just a state of mind!

There are many different areas to become a champion in. It could be sports, arts, music, job or many more different areas, but I think the most important is to become a champion in your own life. By saying champion I mean being the best you want to become. Most people admire others who manage to complete great tasks, win first place in Olympics, get any kind of music award, create an outstanding businesses and do many more fantastic things. And most people think that there is something magical or mystical about those people they admire, but they don't think they can do the same achievements themselves. Many starts with the most popular excuse that they call talent. And here I could say that most people have a great talent in complaining about the talent. Just this title doesn't help anyhow in life and what is worse - it makes a huge damage!

I believe that being a champion is a state of mind. There is nothing to do with any innate qualities, it is just a matter of your mindset. Nobody is born with any kind of mindset and here everybody is equal, except some physical abilities. And most people don't even have a chance to create a champion mindset during their childhood. That's sad, but that's true - we are programmed by the closest surroundings to us, while we are too little to realize something by ourselves. The good news is that we can change our mind any time in any direction, but the important part is to realize that you can do that and where you want to go. So, being a champion is just a decision led by the actions. It's not enough just to say to yourself that you are a champion, it's more important to prove that and prove that to yourself, not to others. I like the quote "Weak people will say he is lucky, strong people will say I will try once more and only the champions will say it's not over until I WIN". Winners' mindset is not about excuses or tries, winners' mindset is about winning and it doesn't matter what it takes!

So, do you assign yourself to champions or to others?

The real life is out there..

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-real-life-is-out-there

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-real-life-is-out-there#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

insights

motivation

Monday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep Tuesday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep Wednesday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep Thursday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep Friday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB, drinking], sleep Saturday: sleeping, [hango [...]

Monday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep
Tuesday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep
Wednesday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep
Thursday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB], sleep
Friday: alarm clock, traffic jam, job, traffic jam, [TV, video games, cleaning, FB, drinking], sleep
Saturday: sleeping, [hangover, drinking, cleaning, pretending you do something], sleep
Sunday: sleeping, [hangover, drinking, cleaning, pretending you do something], sleep
With a small exception in a square brackets, I bet your week is pretty much like the one I described above. Many people consider that as life. I don't.

What is life and what it really means to live a real life? I think this depends on certain people and their point of view, but I believe that the real life is happening only when you are doing the things that make you happy and what really drives you. I think that many people would agree with me. There are a lot of different things and activities in every person's life during the day. Have you ever asked yourself are all of those things and activities really drives you? Are you really happy by doing them? I see a lot of people just being busy during the day/week/month/year/life but never really stopping and making a critical thinking about their lives.

Most of them are so busy by doing all kinds of daily routines that they just simply can't fit any real life in their schedules. Are you one of them? I think that to answer such question is not so easy, because of a few. One of them is that most people consider happiness as the state when they are not sad or when they are living a little bit better than others. In my mind it's not right. The real happiness is only when you are sincerely happy about how you are living despite any other reasons or comparisons to others. Another reason is that most people don't know what they really want. Most of our needs are just adopted habits and patterns from the surroundings person was raised in. Most people are just following the scenario they were raised in and keep on continuing it for the rest of their lives not even realizing that it might not be right. Some of them feel that something is not right, but usually they are too busy to make a critical thinking and change their lives.

Finding a real life is not easy, it takes courage, skills, determination and many other features. Anyway, it is possible. The first thing to do is to realize that things you are doing might not have a meaning. The second step is to develop yourself for a meaningful life. And I mean meaningful for you, not for others. Everything else is just a technical part. Everyone of us has a different start in life, but the good news is that despite that everybody has a chance for the same glorious finish. This depends on you, what are you going to do to live a real, happy and meaningful life.

I would like to know what does the real life means to you?

The pipe of excuses..

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-pipe-of-excuses

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-pipe-of-excuses#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

insights

motivation

Have you ever seen Miss World? Different in age, gender, occupation, social status and definitely - mindset! I was talking about great new opportunities, ideas, business development, dreams and many other similar topics with them. What I've found out is that most of those I've met were excited about these things we talked and they liked them, but..

And here comes "but.." they simply couldn't do any of those things because of their "particular" excuse story. At the beginning it seemed that they really did have a certain reason why not to do something they like or what can help them to get what they want, but later it became obvious that all the stories can be summed up in just a couple of same excuses everybody repeat again and again and again. I could even finish their story before they even reached the middle of it and that's not a psychic or mind reading (or maybe that what exactly a mind reading is). There are no unique stories about why not to do something what can give you the life you want. There are just worthless excuses that not only don't help you in life, but also are making damage to your life.

So, by listening to all those "great" and "sad" stories I made my mind reading map depending on the age of the talker (gender, occupation, social status doesn't matter, but the mindset does!). The topic is starting a business and doing what you want in life. Let's start from the youngest:

up to 18+- years old (school): I am too young, I need to talk to my parents, I need to finish school and go to university to see how it goes, I need to get education first. I'll do business later.

up to 23+- years old (university): I need to study now, to finish the university and get the education. I need to try job now, I'll do business later.

up to 30+- years old (job, relationship): I need to work for my boss, it's not bad or if it is bad I will change a job. I have a loan. I have a boy/girlfriend or wife/husband and no time now, later!

up to 40+- years old (job, routine, children): I have small children so I have no time, I have a loan and I can't take any risks and the job is not bad, I just got a promotion (and another loan). I'll take opportunities later.

over 50+- years old (job, routine): I am too old. I don't know anything else except my job routine. It's not much left till I will be socially paid from the government.

over 65+- years old (socially paid, job): It's not much left for me.

Do you recognize yourself in one of these groups?

And of course "no money" and "no time" are the greatest excuses for all these age groups with no exception. In my opinion the time is the most precious thing in life. It's when the real life is happening when you are doing what you really love (not what you like or what is ok, not bad or etc.).

And as I mentioned in the beginning about the competitions I believe that the life itself is the greatest competition of excuses and everybody is participating in this contest. Just the main difference is that winning the first place in this competition means at the very least not living your own life at all. It's the opposite competition where becoming the last means becoming the greatest and this competition don't need any people to judge you, the life will do that itself, because every action (no action is the action as well) will have its consequences.

So which place did you win in this competition last year? Are you proud with your trophies?

The world is too beautiful..

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-world-is-too-beautiful

http://www.aistiszidanavicius.com/blog/the-world-is-too-beautiful#comments

aistis zidanavicius

experience

insights

motivation

The world is too beautiful to stay in dark corners and coldness. I was remembering my trips, looking for beautiful places in the world over the internet, admiring beautiful views, places and other miracles of the world. The more I was looking, the more I became sure that the world is too beautiful to close yourself into your inner world chasing artificial happiness, formed opinions or established worthless habits.

The more days become shorter and temperature drops (in the country I live in) the more I'm living in tropical island (in my mind for now). What I want to say by this is that it's not enough to see beauty everywhere, though it's possible and it's good to do so, but still deep inside every one of us has a dream to live in a desired place. Everyone of us was born somewhere, raised somewhere and lives somewhere. Most of you don't even think that it could be different, but I believe that everyone of us should find our destination. And that might not be where we are right now. And I believe it is usually not where we were by the circumstances.

The same is with your lifestyle world. For most people it just happens to live some life. It just happens to do some activities, jobs, leisure everyday routinely without even thinking that it's not what they are meant to do or to be. It's like living in a dark and cold place when the world is much bigger, much more beautiful and much more giving. Alarm clock rings in the morning day after day after day and the real life is happening somewhere else. What most people really need is a real wake up alarm clock, not that one which wakes you up for doing meaningless (looking from the point of really enjoying the beauty of the world in any meaning) activity, but the one that wakes you up for life!

So, do you have an alarm clock for life? One of them is material things and the other is your dreams and your mindset. People invented a lot of security solutions to protect their material possessions and still there are a lot of holes that lead to losses. With dreams things are different, once you make them immortal, they become unstealable.

One day I was thinking what would happen if everything I have in material would be lost. I think it's one of the bothering questions many of you consider very important. I remember couple of times when it happened to me. There were few times in my life I lost almost everything I had accrued before and none of those times something bad happened or made me go crazy. And the main thing that kept me on moving and finding a solution to gather everything and even more again were my dreams and my mindset. After all of those times it happened I didn't turn down on life, because I always had my dreams immortal and they always lifted me up.

And is there any method to steal your dreams? I believe there is just until you make a conscious choice to protect them and never ever give up on your dreams. That makes your dreams immortal. While you are not sure of your path in life and who you are really meant to be, there are a lot of dream thieves around you, like wrong people, any kind of memes, myths, irrational beliefs, unwillingness, ignorance of information, laziness, routine and mostly of the time it's you yourself.

Here is one of the examples, that you probably never think of being such: there are a lot of proverbs in society that are not right or maybe just interpreted in a wrong way. One of them is "Don't tell your dream to anybody because it will not come true". It might be true to some degree. If you are not sure about your dream or if you are not strong enough to protect your dream with your mindset, this proverb might turn out to be true. One of the options is not to tell your dream to wrong people, to dream thieves, until you make it immortal. It's always possible to tell your dream to right people, the ones who will help you and will lift you up. And that's a choice of self-development to recognize such people and let them into your life. I always tell my dreams to others, of course to the right people, and it's not because I'm afraid of dream thieves, it's because I don't see any sense telling them to wrong people. You can do the same!

Summarizing all above and my starting thought of what would happen if everything material would be lost, I'm very happy about the conclusion. Nobody can steal dreams. It's impossible if you make them immortal. That means that in any circumstances, in any situation you are facing, you can still look to the world with a big smile, because you have your dreams which are the main ingredient in creating an abundant life. And to make your dreams immortal there are many methods and everything starts with self-development. And that's a choice which is made only by you.

So, how do you protect your dreams? That is my mantra. Why? Because I have a choice and I choose to live like that. Recently I have been living in a resort and had a chance to meet a lot of people on holidays. And I really love the aura that is created in such places. People are not rushing so much and really trying to enjoy their time. The quality of that enjoyment is another question, but in this post I'm not writing about that. The biggest problem is that mostly all of them have just one or couple weeks of that satisfaction and the rest of the year is just an unpleasant work.

Being there I had a lot of time to think about my life and I really came to the conclusion that for me holidays never end. I made this choice long time ago unconsciously and as I think now it really influenced all the things I've been doing since. The main thing was to decide that I will do in my life just the things I love and if I have to start something that I don't like I will find a way to escape from that situation as soon as possible. And I'm not talking about financial independence yet, even though it's a very good thing and it's the next step I want to improve to, but firstly I'm talking about the lifestyle of never working and always enjoying your life.

The same thing is with the weekends. Many people already start to think about it on Monday. It's funny to see those sad pictures on Facebook describing horrific Monday, than for me it's always Saturday. Considering all above it seems that there is something wrong if there are just some days a year to enjoy life. I know that it's possible to enjoy life all year round on the holiday's mode. But the first things come first and everything starts from the choice and that is the most difficult thing to do for most people. It might seem that there are a lot of circumstances why one or another can't make such choice, but I don't want to write them here because it's just an excuses, it's not real bad circumstances because there are no such, it's just the attitude to them and unwillingness to change, or just a habit to delay things (usually for a lifetime).

The main question should not be why you can't make such a choice, but how to make it. And I believe that everything starts from decision of what you want in life, what makes you really happy and what makes sense in life. Try to describe you perfect day, week, month without any limits. Then start living like you described and repeat it as many times as you like. So, everything starts from the dream, like always, it's nothing new. Then it comes the harder part or starting to live your dream and this part requires a lot of characteristics like your attitude, discipline, skills, knowledge, responsibility, decision making, determination, persistence and might need many more. The last part, repeating the cycle, is the easiest and it's the result of how good you fulfilled the first 2 steps.

I told you my recipe of never ending holidays. Now you know everything to make your life like never ending holidays. All required characteristics you can learn from many inspiring people and teachers like Bryan Tracy, Randy Gage, Anthony Robbins, Richard Branson, Robert Kiyosaki and many others. Good books also help a lot. What you need before start is just a desire and willingness to change.

Have any thoughts or questions? Please, share or ask!
