Do you work or do you live?

Hi, how are you,-
Hi, everything is normal, just working, as always-
That's the most common start of the conversation. Strange, because I think we are supposed to live our lives instead of working our lives.

It's a nice picture I found to illustrate this post and that's a sad true of how most people are living their lives. Work is in one direction and home is in the opposite, never even realizing that life is somewhere in completely other direction.

I know, I know, some people would say "I like my work", many would say "I don't want to lay on the couch and do nothing". These answers are the most popular. What I've noticed, that there are so many activities to do, if you are not just going to work, you just need to have imagination. Even if you don't have it, there are so many opportunities around to try something new. So, I think, you will never have to lay on the couch and do nothing.

"I like my work", this answer is even more interesting. It's very good to like it. You can be more productive and achieve better results when you like your job. That's fantastic, but where is your real life? And life, in my opinion, consist of many more things than only job that you like, such as quality time with your family/friends/lover, hobbies, trips, nice and comfortable things, health and many many more.

I love those rare conversation that starts:
Hi, how are you,-
Hi, you won't believe me, but I just came back from Hawaii and I really have something exiting to tell you,-

So, do you fit a word "life" in the description of your life?
